GWL Realty Advisors Teams up With Local Artist to Spread Love in Wake of Van Attack
June 29, 2018
On Monday, GWL Realty Advisors and Toronto Love Project unveiled a moving art installation in the atrium of GWLRA’s North York Centre.
The installation, which pays tribute to those affected by the van attack of April 23, features long quilted banners adorned with messages of hope and love. Initiated by artist, Berene Campbell the project was created in collaboration with artists from Vancouver to Australia who wanted to share words of peace aimed to lessen the feelings of grief and despair and facilitate the healing process.
To begin the unveiling, tenants and guests from the community listened to speeches provided by Campbell and Councillor John Filion, along with the musical interludes of a three-piece jazz band. The event was covered by several major news organizations including CBC, CTV, Global News, CP24 and Toronto Star.
The installation will remain on display and open to the public until Sept.8.
